Wye Creek Ice Climbs
A valley on the flanks of the Remarkables above Lake Wakatipu, where the waterfalls freeze in winter into New Zealand's main ice climbing area, with routes from WI2 to WI5. Getting in is the hard part: a helicopter from Frankton, or two to three hours on foot from The Remarkables ski field, over the saddle and down into the valley.
