Arrowtown Gaol
A stone gaol built in 1876 at 8 Cardigan Street, the fourth oldest in the country, put up to replace a wooden lock up of two cells. It held prisoners into the 1930s and was opened once more in 1987 for New Year's Eve troublemakers, and the key to look inside is kept at the Lakes District Museum.
